Sacramento, Calif. – Candidate for Sacramento County Board of Education Area 2 Ray Green today announced the endorsement of former Democratic State Assemblyman Roger Dickinson.
“When I first met Ray, I could immediately see his passion and desire to improve our community and help students achieve their best,” said Dickinson. “Ray is a respected education leader who is absolutely the right person for the job. I know he won’t let us down.”
Dickinson served two terms in the State Assembly, where he introduced legislation to help improve faculty hiring in California’s community colleges, as well as several bills requiring gang and youth violence reduction and prevention programs to implement evidence-based practices.
Prior to serving in Legislature, Dickson served on the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors, where he was instrumental to bringing Raley Field to West Sacramento.
“I’m thrilled to have the support of such a well-respected and hard working education advocate and community leader,” said Green. “I admire the work Assemblyman Dickinson has done for our community and am glad to have his support.”
